Job Overview

We’re looking for a dynamic technical sales individual who has previous sales experience within the industrial and municipal water treatment sectors.

This is a technical sales role, where the successful candidate will be responsible for the sales and development of clients within the area.

The ideal candidate has a background in water / environmental engineering and has a knowledge of the relevant technologies required to treat a process water and process effluent.

An ability to design water treatment systems would be an added bonus, however training will be given on this.

Sales Experience and knowledge of the customer base and territory is preferable.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of your territory, working closely with clients to understand their challenges and design effective water treatment solutions.
  • Build relationships with industrial and municipal clients
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities
  • Visit client sites to understand their water and effluent treatment needs
  • Create and present technical proposals and solutions
  • Collaborate with our engineering team to deliver tailored systems
  • Strengthen relationships with key accounts and suppliers

Practical Skills & Experience

We’re looking for someone who blends technical understanding with commercial awareness.

Essential

  • Experience in technical sales, ideally within water treatment or a related sector
  • Understanding of water or environmental processes
  • Ability to communicate complex technical ideas clearly to clients
  • A proactive, self-driven approach with strong relationship-building skills
  • Full UK driving licence

Nice to have (but not essential—we’ll support your development)

  • Background in water or environmental engineering
  • Experience with effluent treatment systems or process design
  • Knowledge of chemical, microbiological, or lab processes
  • Ability to contribute to or interpret technical designs

Required Characteristics

  • Reliable and self-motivated individual
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent people skills and the ability to participate and/or lead teams
  • Full driving license

Location:

This is a Glasgow based role with regular travel to sites throughout the UK.

Package

  • £40k-£48k salary, negotiable depending on experience.
